About the event

A celebration of all things automotive.

From rally cars to supercars, from classics to ultra-modern. Participants are invited by the Gage family and their expert selection committee. There will be three paddocks of extraordinary vehicles which will be open to spectators to view close up.

Supercar Paddock

The event were elegance meets speed.

Firle Beacon

Supercar Paddock & Demonstration

This paddock will be set against the sweeping vista that is Firle Estate. With the very best of modern supercars displayed, including alternative power models. Not only will these vehicles be on display, but they will also be demonstrated over a standing quarter-mile sprint course, utilising the Estate’s main driveway, four times a day, on both days. There will be over 60 Supercars in the paddock, and cars will attempt the sprint course at 30 second intervals.

Ferrari Steering Wheel

Bo Peep Hill Climb Display & Demonstration

The organisers of the historic Bo Peep hill climb will be invited to represent the history and legacy of this iconic annual event. Traditionally run on the Firle Estate, this year the 60th anniversary was celebrated. Again, not only will we honour this landmark event by displaying the cars, but they will also be demonstrated over the same quarter-mile sprint course as the supercars. There will be approximately 40 cars from the era, running on both the Sprint course and the rally stage (dependent upon specification).

60 years of hill climb heritage at the Firle Estate.

Firle Beacon

Rally Car Paddock & Rally Stage Demonstration

Firle Place

Rally Cars at Firle Beacon

The largest of our three classes will celebrate 70 years of worldwide rally sport, including cars that have competed in such legendary events as Monte Carlo, East African Safari, Thousand Lakes and Britain’s own RAC Rally.

Under the patronage of the Gage family, a committee of members of the International Rally Drivers Club will choose a selection of cars from modern-day World Rally cars, through the omnipresent Subaru & Mitsubishi years, to the early days of the ‘Flying Finns’ in Mini Cooper, Saab and Escort.

Particular attention will be paid to our two home-grown World Champions: Colin McRae and Richard Burns. The Rally Paddock will invoke the sights and ambiance of a genuine ‘rally service area.’

Meanwhile, starting at the main gate the over 2-mile rally stage demonstration will see upwards of 100+ rally cars at 30 second intervals, which will use estate roads then exit the park through the village and run along the chalk road before ending with a fantastic climb up to Firle Beacon. Truly a race to the Beacon!

Meet The Event Officials

Firle Beacon on the sporting demonstration side, is fronted up by two seasoned motor sport organisers: the Rally Stage is managed by Michael Weeks an experienced rally clerk, while the Sprint is under the direction of Colin Billings – who famously got the Crystal Palace circuit reopened for motorsport.

The volunteer recruitment and deployment process is controlled by Gavin Cross, a hugely respected official in this sphere.

The Selection Committee, as all participants are invited by the Firle Estate, is headed by International Rally Drivers Club chair, Shaun Martin, and includes notable motor sport & motor industry figures, with a broad spectrum of interests. While the all important dialogue between participants and organisers pre and on event will be in the capable hands of Chrissie Chorley – who has acted as Secretary to a host of events.

The event will be run to the highest safety standards, aligned with those expected wordwide; and of course with the full backing of local and regional authorities, including a tri-services emergency response plan.
